EWGA in Harmony

With such a diverse membership, we are always finding new ways to connect with one another. In an effort to keep current with your needs and interests, GEPD invites you to use the below resources and programs:

EWGA’s Fairway Friends program is available to all EWGA members. This is a great way to try volunteering time to the chapter by mentoring a new to golf member. For new to golf members, this is a “must get” in terms of immediately taking advantage of membership and learning how to play golf.

This program is designed to pair a mentor (someone experienced with playing the game of golf) with a mentee (someone brand new to the game of golf) to help get them comfortable with playing on the golf course. A mentor is not per se a “good golfer” as much as they are interested in ensuring those new to golf members are guided if they have questions on playing, such as when to let someone “play through”.

The mentee is a new golfer who is ready to make the transition from practicing to playing on the golf course and has a basic understanding of all elements of playing a round of golf.

A mentor can volunteer their time and knowledge for example by meeting for warm-up and practice with the new to golf member at her first event, or pair with them on a scramble team.
