S.W.I.N.G. Program matches mentors with beginners to help them learn the game. Beginners - want a mentor to help learn about golf, and to join you for playing opportunities? Active golfers - want an opportunity to help a fellow EWGA member learn and enjoy the game of golf, for business and for life?

EWGA’s new S.W.I.N.G. (Skillful Women Inspiring New Golfers) program offers a great opportunity for us to link mentors and mentees in the Dallas Chapter.

S.W.I.N.G. is a new mentor program available to EWGA members offering experienced golfers an opportunity to support the mission of the EWGA by encouraging members newer at the game to learn all about golf - like etiquette, pace of play and the rules of the game - in a fun, noncompetitive environment.

S.W.I.N.G. is a win-win for both mentors and mentees. Every EWGA member who joins the program as a volunteer mentor or as a mentee receives a 25% discount for one year on all regularly priced bette&court products from affiliate www.ForeSport.com. Mentors receive a unique mentor pin with the official mentor program logo and a S.W.I.N.G. cap. There’s more... one mentor from each EWGA membership region will be chosen from a chance drawing to win a $250 shopping spree from bette&court. They will receive their award at the 2005 EWGA Annual Conference in November 2005.

EWGA mentees will have a special ’buddy’ they can turn to with questions during organized golf and non-golf events. With the help of their mentor, mentees will learn how to maximize their members benefits and resources in order to take full advantage of everything EWGA offers. This special camaraderie on and off the course is priceless! To further enhance the assistance on the golf course, new golfers also receive special offers from Wilson Golf and the change to win golf equipment every new golfer needs.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE A MENTOR? Click here for more information!
• A good working knowledge of basic rules and etiquette of the game of golf. You needn’t be a low handicap player, and being a mentor does not include teaching someone how to play - our organization includes and works with many very talented teaching professionals to teach the game.
• You need to be willing to mentor for a period of one year, and commit to three events with a new golfer
• Mentors need to follow certain educational guidelines, answer questions, keep pace of play and ensure an enjoyable golfing experience. There is plenty of information on the EWGA web site to help you with your role.
