S.W.I.N.G. Program matches mentors with beginners to help them learn the game. Beginners - want a mentor to help learn about golf, and to join you for playing opportunities? Active golfers - want an opportunity to help a fellow EWGA member learn and enjoy the game of golf, for business and for life?
EWGA's new S.W.I.N.G. (Skillful Women Inspiring New Golfers) program offers a great opportunity for us to link mentors and mentees in the Dallas Chapter.
S.W.I.N.G. is a new mentor program available to EWGA members offering experienced golfers an opportunity to support the mission of the EWGA by encouraging members newer at the game to learn all about golf - like etiquette, pace of play and the rules of the game - in a fun, noncompetitive environment.
The 2010 S.W.I.N.G. program (Skillful Women Inspiring New Golfers) began on January 1 and all U.S. Chapters are listed as participating in the program. The S.W.I.N.G. program is a great opportunity to recruit new members, while asking veteran members to mentor a new golfer. Over 2,400 friendships have been created by the S.W.I.N.G. program in the last four years, and I am hopeful that this year another 1,000 women will bond through the game of golf.
Each Chapter's Golf Education & Player Development Chair is encouraged to download the S.W.I.N.G. Sign Up Sheet for mentors and mentees to register for the program. Once mentors and mentees sign up with the GEPD Chair, the GEPD Chair is asked to send the sign up sheet to golfprograms@myewga.com. By submitting the sign up sheet to golfprograms@myewga.com, mentors and mentees will be entered into the database at EWGA Headquarters. Their information will be sent to program sponsor Swing by bette & court for the mentors and mentees to receive their gifts and discounts from Swing by bette & court.
For 2009, Divisions were formed based on membership totals for each Chapter. Each Chapter will be in a Division that has Chapters that are similar in size based on membership numbers. There are 12 Divisions, and you can download the 2009 Divisions List here . In addition, to help each Chapter and GEPD Chair promote the S.W.I.N.G. program, the 2009 S.W.I.N.G. flyer has been posted.
